 12th Knot Summer party space

With a design reminiscent of a 1920s transatlantic cruise liner, award-winning food and drink outlets and an electric energy, Sea Containers London is a remarkable Bankside situated hotel that just seems to transcend time. VSL took a look around...

The hotel pride themselves on offering everything you need for meeting and events and nothing you don't!

Channelling the cruise ship chic style of the whole hotel, their Studio Foyer is ideal for informal breakouts, coffee breaks and celebratory drinks for both large and small groups. The Studio spaces offer a variety of setups tailored to your requirements, whether it’s an intimate meeting or a grand event, you can divide their main space into four breakout spaces. At weekends the Studio Foyer plays host to guests of the in-house Curzon Cinema screen, and the decor embodies the nostalgia of video tapes, pop art film artwork and old-school luxury.

The Studios combined accommodate up to 176 for a seated dinner, or 180 Theatre style, with the Foyer suitable for up to 110 guests standing for a stylish reception. The aforementioned screening room take 56 in a fixed theatre layout, perfect for a smaller presentation, breakout space or post-conference film to chill out after a full day.

Looking for your next summer party or reception with a wow factor? Or even a unique conference space with a view - then look no further than 12th Knot. Perched atop Sea Containers London, 12th Knot is an elegant rooftop playground. With an extensive list of the world’s best champagnes alongside seasonal and ingredient-led cocktails, the space can host receptions and parties for up to 300 guests. Epitomising the vibrancy of the South Bank against the backdrop of the River Thames, 12th Knot comes alive as the sun goes down and their DJs and live bands kick off.

Unexpectedly, the rooftop venue is well-equipped for a meeting or conference, and comes complete with electronic ceiling-mounted screen, HDMI, VGA and PC Audio connection, 3m wide 16:10 screen, full HD Panasonic projector with HDMI and VGA/Minijack input, Bose ceiling speakers for hotel music and PC audio, full Crestron control for projection, music selection and volume, 2x Pioneer CDJ2000 Nexus and 1x DJM 900 Nexus, EV Floor Monito, New sound system – Function One, including: 4x Function One F1201 Main Speakers, 2x Function One F101 DJ Monitors, 3x Function One F55 Peripheral Speakers and 2x Function One BR118 Bass Speaker, 63a power in Cloakroom and 13 floor boxes with 13a power around the room - all you could need!

Heading into Lyaness for one of their famous cocktails, this is a cocktail bar that goes beyond the simple focus of what’s in your glass. In a vibrant space overlooking the Thames, Lyaness harks back to the glamour of the most opulent homes with an energy befitting of the best parties. The interiors, designed by Jacu Strauss, feature Lyaness’ signature electric blue alongside a standout green marble bar. With a capacity of 150 guests for a standing reception and views overlooking the river Thames, the space is sure to set your event apart! Just be aware this is a very popular location for residents and regular guests of the hotel so availability will be on a bespoke basis and dependent on budget.

We followed our drinks with dinner in the spectacular Sea Containers Restaurant. For events, the private dining room comes with its own secluded south facing terrace, and provides an intimate setting for up to 22 guests. Featuring bespoke gold dining tables, comfortable leather seating and custom designed atmospheric lighting, all designed by Tom Dixon. With an American-British-inspired menu designed for sharing, their dishes celebrate seasonality and local ingredient-led cooking, with a touch of British quirk. Expect a relaxed, inclusive atmosphere, with friendly and engaging staff who create memorable experiences.

Fancy staying over? Their 359 guest rooms and suites offer everything you need within arm’s reach. With design reminiscent of the 1920s transatlantic liners (without the potential for sea sickness) - the hotel rooms feature double, queen or king beds, dimmable lighting, bespoke furniture and en-suite marble bathrooms.
