However, there is a standout hidden gem that celebrates homegrown British talent: Tate Britain.

As the oldest member of the Tate family (which includes Tate Modern, Tate Liverpool, and Tate St. Ives), Tate Britain houses the largest collection of British art in the world. Its rich history and stunning architecture reflect the evolution of British design, offering a truly inspiring setting for events. Among its exceptional spaces, none is more iconic than The Duveens.

Upon entering Tate Britain through the grand Victorian rotunda on Millbank, guests are welcomed into The Duveens: 300-foot galleries featuring soaring barrel-vaulted ceilings and a striking central octagon. Built in 1937, these were the first galleries in Britain explicitly designed to showcase sculpture. The result is a space that marries timeless architectural grandeur with artistic brilliance.

From February to April every year, The Duveens transform into an unparalleled setting for high-end corporate events, including fashion shows, gala dinners, and prestigious award ceremonies. With no artwork in the space the capacity of the Duveens increases to 900 guests standing, 500 seated and allows for large scale production builds. This is a venue that seamlessly combines history, art, and architecture, immersing guests in British creativity and culture to create a truly unforgettable experience.

Host Large-Scale Events in 2025

From February 17 to April 27, 2025, The Duveens expand their capacity to host up to:

• 900 guests (standing) for receptions
• 500 guests (seated) for formal dining

At other times, the venue is ideal for intimate large-scale gatherings, accommodating:

• 300 guests for receptions
• 120 guests (seated) for luxury dinners

What's more, Tate Britain comes with its own in house catering supplier. Head Chef, Spencer Ralph has access to exceptional produce and is immersed in Tate with engaging with curatorial colleagues to design bespoke menus based on their program. This unique approach makes them one the UK’s finest events kitchens. The team work with many of the best breweries in the UK delivering artist inspired beers exclusive to Tate; their own gin, distilled by Sacred is now in it’s eighth year of production, while their own elderflower soda is made with Square Root. Tate seek and support small independent businesses, crafting brilliant products that reflect their values.

Coffee has been their passion for over a decade since the inception of Coffee by Tate, their own roastery. It is an innovative, specialty coffee space situated within the historic grounds of Tate Britain.
