VSL visits Sands End Arts & Community Centre

An oasis of rural calm in south-west London, Sands End Arts & Community Centre is a deserved RIBA award-winning space that is now available for corporate, private and wedding hire, combining both indoor and garden spaces.
Tucked away in South Park, Fulham and just a 5-minute walk from Parsons Green tube station and surrounded by original Edwardian walls and century-old plane trees, it offers a serene, green oasis that feels worlds away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
We visited the stunning contemporary Main Hall with large windows providing loads of natural light and an intriguing beamed and natural wood roof structure. The Hall can cater for up to 160 for seated events and 250 for standing receptions. The Hall opens into the adjoining café which can provide additional reception space, if required.
There are also two smaller spaces – the beautifully converted Edwardian Lodge, set over two floors and with exposed brickwork and natural wood floors and a small meeting room which can be used as a breakout room or organisers office.
However, the real feature of this venue is the adjoining outside space, with the plane tree garden offering a superb setting for summer parties and receptions (either with or without a stretch tent covering. In addition, there are sports pitches just a minute’s walk away which are perfect for summer team building activities, sports days or family fun days.
The venue has a good list of catering partners including street food operators and bespoke caterers for more formal dining.
