Opened over 11 years ago, and one of the best-known landmarks on the London skyline, St Mary’s Axe, nicknamed the Gherkin, wowed the Venue Search London team last night with an incredible evening of entertainment.  Sandwiched between two newly opened skyscrapers.

This isn’t surprising as for the first time, the Gherkin will theme and host their own Christmas party this year- A Glistening Snow Globe in the Sky- how exciting! With four key event spaces, this venue is perfect for any event needs; whether you’re looking for a conference venue, a christmas party venue or even a private dining space for a corporate event.

The Venue Search London team were lucky enough to experience the Glass Dome Restaurant and Bar; at Floor 39 overlooking London, a standing reception (up to 260) or a 150-seated dinner would work perfectly any time of the year! Elegantly lit with staggered table lamps, and a twinkling pea lit floor, the darker spaces within the London venue  allow the  London night’s skyline to do the talking. When entering the space the view is entirely mesmerising, and a simplistic modern layout allows all attention to focus on their best features- incorporated with a classy, yet informal atmosphere, it’s the perfect Member’s Club to enjoy a glass of bubbly- and we sure did!

Located a floor below, on the 38th floor,The Perrier-Jouet Room and The Chivas Room are excellently positioned to ensure they have the most stunning views over the City and West End of London- what better way to enjoy a small meeting space or private dining with your colleagues! The bigger of the two rooms, Perrier-Jouet, styled incorporating their Champagne Ambassador’s elegant feminine branding comfortably seats 30. For a smaller group The Chivas Room with a seated capacity of 18 paired with Chivas Scotch Whiskey hosts a masculine feel, the perfect space to hire for a corporate dinner.

From arrival the champagne was ever flowing and a selection of wine was provided to choose from, a Venue Search London favourite! For nibbles, canapés and sliders were circulated ranging from spoonfuls of Greek Salad to Black Bean Burritos. A team favourite would be the miniature Burgers, a perfect mouthful, as well as small cones filled with Fish & Chips, transporting us back to London cuisines!

After chatting the night away with the Searcy’s team, the Venue Search London girls left well educated on their new favourite event spaces, and excited to return. In addition to luxurious events, and the Member’s restaurant and bar, The Gherkin will host a number of nights through the upcoming months for all audiences to enjoy afternoon tea or dinner at the much-loved skyscraper of London- fab opportunity for a Christmas treat!
