Three Top Good News Stories from 2020

Lately it can feel like the world has stopped. But at VSL, we have been keeping an eye on all the great ways our industry has been progressing throughout lockdown - and there is a lot to look forward to. Here are our three favourite good news stories from 2020 so far.
Compass Group acquire tech startup Feedr
In early March this year, the UK’s leading food service business, Compass Group UK and Ireland, acquired technology startup Feedr. The app allows users to track their food intake, as well helping users make healthier choices and will have a key role in ensuring their employees return to work healthy and happy.
Feedr’s mobile ordering and pre-pay functions will enable Compass to transform the way people interact with on-site restaurants, so people can browse menus, pay and collect, offering as little human contact as possible by eliminating queues and supporting social distancing.
The Peninsula London
London is famous for having some of the world's most iconic hotels, from the Ritz to the Savoy and the Dorchester on Park Lane. There is a new name coming and we couldn’t be more excited! The much-anticipated opening of The Peninsula London is coming to the capital.
Overlooking Hyde Park and the Wellington Arch, a brand-new luxury hotel has been announced and will be opening in 2021 in the heart of London. Drive in movie with Luna Cinema
Since we won’t be able to go to the cinema anytime soon, Luna Cinema have worked out a way to run their popular cinema experiences in the safety of our own cars! Building off their ever so popular outdoor screenings during the warmer months, Luna have announced a series of events for this summer in various well-known locations including London’s Allianz Park, Warwick Castle, Knebworth House and Blenheim Palace! If you’ve ever wanted to pretend you’re on the set of Grease during those famous Drive-In scenes, now is your chance. You can even sing in the privacy of your own vehicle if you wish. Just an idea.
