If you long to find a piece of the traditional "old world" along with tranquil quintessential "Englishness" (grand stately home, the river Thames, trees, rolling green meadows, herd of cows) and you do not want to leave London, then look no further than Syon Park.

The Great Hall is the largest and one of the finest of the State Apartments in Syon House. Syon House is a Tudor construction, whose interior was reworked and re-imagined during the Georgian era by Robert Adam. The room's purpose even to this day is to welcome guests into Syon House.

The Great Hall is based upon a Roman Basilica. Its grand scale and splendour resemble the Imperial Rome of a Hollywood epic - with its black and white marble floor, breathtaking decorative stucco work and collection of statues. Its warm pale tones echo the stonework on the exterior of the House too - it is both stunning, formal yet welcoming.

It is the perfect space for a formal seated dinner or drinks reception. At one end, there is a raised platform behind a statue which makes an ideal stage for speeches, announcements or wards. The acoustics are excellent too. The room gives out onto an italianate inner courtyard garden with central fountain and parterres of white and green scented flowers for the enjoyment of guests during spring and summer.

Dancing is not permitted, but guests are welcome to enjoy acoustic music throughout an event.
